Dr. Rebecca Frisch

A clinical psychologist recognized for her warmth, empathy, and thoughtful creativity in therapy, Dr. Frisch’s approach helps patients deepen their self-understanding, strengthen relationships, and move toward a more hopeful and grounded future. She is expert at addressing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and mood dysregulation.

Dr. Frisch brings advanced expertise in perinatal and parent-infant mental health to the perinatal team at Prospect Psychology, where she collaborates closely with obstetricians, pediatricians, midwives, and women’s health clinics throughout New York City. Her specialized training helps individuals navigate fertility issues, pregnancy loss, and the often-complex postpartum transition, and allows her to provide a reassuring and robust level of support.

With extensive experience working with children and adolescents, Dr. Frisch addresses a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and developmental concerns. She utilizes play therapy and dyadic interventions to support young children in expressing their feelings and building emotional regulation skills, while also guiding parents in strengthening their connection and confidence in caregiving. She helps teens build skills to manage anxiety, mood dysregulation, ADHD, trauma, and depression. She works collaboratively with families, ensuring your child is in good hands.

A lifelong New Yorker, Dr. Frisch is well-versed in the landscape of both public and independent schools in New York City. She frequently consults with families and educators around learning, attentional, and emotional needs, including support with IEP development, educational planning, and testing accommodations.

Trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and with expertise in evidence-based practices such as CBT and DBT, Dr. Frisch works with children, adults, and couples to help them make significant and lasting changes, instilling a sense of hope and optimism throughout therapy.
